“Forget it All” is a story of self sabotage. Turning on its head the tale of Perseus and Medusa, the rejected Grecian hero offers himself as a sacrifice to the Gorgon queen instead of slaying her; destroying himself to escape the devastation of his heartbreak. Perseus is driven mad by the age old question that has no doubt plagued us all: is apathy the answer to the sufferings of love? Skye writes, “I run from everyone I love, if loving’s what that is. And it’s true, I would prefer to forget it all than to forgive.” Driven by desperation, the song illustrates the pivotal moment in one's life when a lover becomes a fighter, laying the first brick of their walls. Skye’s siren vocals cut away at the hearts of listeners amidst hypnotic electric guitar, driving acoustic guitar, guttural bass and pounding drums; back dropped against the metaphor of Greek myth.

Lyrics

I tried to make it work too long, ‘cuz if I didn’t, they’d be right
About you and what you did, but also about me and how
I run from everyone I love, if loving’s what that is
And it’s true I would prefer to forget it all than to forgive

Oh, to make sure that when it does hurt
It’s gonna stay short, even the good parts.

Without you, I’m nothing good
I know it’s bad to say and worse to believe
But I do, and that’s my truth
I’m cast away like Perseus to the sea
I was your rescuer, I used to save you time after time
But now I find it’s me who needs a hero, and there’s nobody

So I’ll make sure my heart is stone cold
Staring at the monster, hair made of vipers
She said, “Statues don’t hurt…I’ll make it so short…
You could forget it all, even the good parts”

Walk into the room slowly
Floorboards aching below feet
Speak your mind and destroy me
The only one let close enough to tear me up

I tried to make it work too long, ‘cuz if I didn’t, they’d be right…

My heart is stone cold
I hate the giving up, but I’ll do as I’m told
I’ll never be enough for you, even though I’m older
Wanna be tough, but you weigh on my shoulders

So cold, my heart is stone cold
I hate the giving up, my heart is stone cold
My heart is stone cold
